    The village of Mazatlan is a special place for your Mexican vacation. Mazatlan has much to recommend it to any visitor, everything from a busy city, to a unique sea port to a relaxed beach resort on the Mexican Riviera, all in one convenient location.

    Outdoor activities rule the day in Mazatlan, as in many other resort locations in Mexico. In Mazatlan, the visitor can enjoy deep sea fishing, wonderful scuba diving, parasailing and a host of other water sports for the outdoor enthusiast.

    In addition to the host of wonderful water based activities, the visitor to Mazatlan can enjoy wonderful golf courses and tennis courts as well. No matter what sports you enjoy, you will be likely to be able to enjoy them while in Mazatlan.

    Mazatlan enjoys a perfect location and wonderful weather. Nestled into the mouth of the Sea of Cortez, Mazatlan is located on the Pacific Ocean, across from the tip of the Baja Peninsula. The largest mountain range in the country of Mexico, known as the Sierra Madre Occidental mountain range.


    Long before its current role as an travel destination for visitors from around the world, Mazatlan enjoyed a previous life as a busy, bustling sea port. It still retains some of this previous history on the sea, and as a result Mazatlan is not as touristy as some of the other resorts on the Pacific Coast of Mexico.

    Another great thing that sets Mazatlan apart from Mexico's other resort locations are the benefits afforded by the big city location. This fortuitous location means that prices in Mazatlan are lower than they are in many other resort locations. Everything from lodging to shopping to dining is more affordable than in other resort cities.

    Speaking of dining, there is plenty of it in Mazatlan. The variety of dining opportunities in Mazatlan is simply dazzling. Not only is fresh seafood available in many of the cities fine restaurants, but fresh Asian and Mexican dishes are available as well.     The city of Mazatlan is divided into two separate regions. The city region, or "Old Mazatlan", is where the industrious activity of the city takes place. The resort region to the north, or "Zona Durada", is a long ribbon of sandy beaches, fine restaurants, shopping centers and resort hotels.

    In addition to the tourist industry, Mazatlan is Mexico's most important fishing port. Its two most important catches are tuna and shrimp. Of course it was this abundance of sea life that attracted tourists to Mazatlan in the first place. The port is also home to the largest sport fishing fleet in Mexico, with an annual catch of over 10,000 sailfish and marlin in the surrounding waters.

    If you like to fish, Mazatlan is your destination. There are a number of excellent fishing operations located in and around Mazatlan.
